Airbrushing Adventures

ยท

In an effort to help the wife develop products for her business, I am trying to pick up a new skill: airbrushing. One of the things we tried making using the 3D resin printer was Pokemon Pokeball earrings. Well resin only comes in one color and it needs to be painted. I originally attempted to spray prime the resin print using a shake and spray can. For the life of me I could not get the primer to stop running all over the place. After numerous failed attempts and research, I determined that the next best option besides hand painting is airbrushing.

Airbrushing comes with numerous challenges. Just like every newbie out there, my first try experimenting with the airbrush resulted in a clog airbrush. After days of experimenting and numerous Youtube videos, I believe I have a recipe to be successful. Hopefully I will generate enough “quality” pieces worthy of being posted online. I will also post my progression in this adventure in airbrushing.

If you were curious which airbrush system I got, it was a “Master Airbrush Cool Runner II Dual Fan Air Compressor Professional Airbrushing System Kit with 3 Airbrushes, Gravity and Siphon Feed – 6 Primary Opaque Colors Acrylic Paint Artist Set – How to Guide” from Amazon. I did have to request an exchange of the G22 airbrush because it seems to leak air too much. But before I drop some serious cash on a Badger or Iwata airbrush, this Master Airbrush should help me hone in my airbrushing skills.
