Experimenting in Recording

ยท

One of the things that has always bugged me is the sound of acoustic guitars connected to a speaker or Public Announcing (PA) speakers. For some reason the high trebles sound very “tin-ny” and sharp. One way to solve this is to use a microphone to record the sound coming from the acoustic guitar. Now there are a few things you need to understand about recording acoustic guitar. Dynamic vs condenser. Bridge vs Neck placement. One vs two mics. Straight on vs overhead. There is a lot to consider. Therefore I plan on trying to make a few recordings of the different configurations and share my finds here in the future. So stay tuned to see if I can help promote the art of recording a guitar using average priced equipment.
